Bio-ActionStream RevitalizationProtecting our Streams

Students undertake classroom studies to learn the basics of stream ecology and the benefits of stream rehabilitation. In May, a half day is scheduled for the students to travel by bus to a stream site within close proximity to their school to carry out plantings.

All work will be documented. Students will record water quality, ecosystem conditions and inventory, and what species are being added and why. They will effectively record a comprehensive snapshot of the "before" and "after."

All instructional materials, recording sheets, measuring instruments, plants and planting materials, bus transportation to planting locations, safety gear, equipment, and on-site assistance are provided through the program.
